FRANKLIN, IND. – Freshmen Triston Mahoney (Titusville, Fla.) and Corbin Blank (Lowell, Ind.) and sophomore Anjel Clemente (Rensselaer, Ind.) had their names indelibly etched into Manchester University athletics history Saturday, Oct. 29.
Mahoney established a new 200-yard butterfly mark in the Franklin Community School District's middle school pool, clocking a time of 2:21.33 in dual action against the Grizzlies. Blank and Clemente will permanently be known as the first divers for the men's squad in competition action, as Clemente's scores of 122.25 in the six dives and 160.95 in the 11 dives set school standards.
For the Black and Gold women's squad, junior Emily Clark (Peru, Ind.) was just off the 200-yard backstroke school mark. Her time of 2:35.37 was only five-hundredths behind. Sophomore Mikki Goetz (Highland, Ind.) also added another event to her and the program's repertoire this season, as she competed in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
Coach Mike Kroll's crew faces off against its first Ohio Athletic Conference foe Saturday, Nov. 5. They make the northeastern trek to Cleveland for a dual against Baldwin-Wallace.
