Meet details: Competition in the field events gets underway at 11 a.m., while running events begin at 12 p.m. inside Kerscher Stadium on ONU's campus in Ada, Ohio … Live results and video during the day can be accessed via links at www.muspartans.com, the Internet home of Manchester University athletics.

Spartan Shorts: With one weekend of qualifying remaining before the 2017 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, Manchester University has a combined nine men's and women's events ranked within the league's performance list two best efforts. For the men, senior distance runners Alex Gudeman (Rochester, Ind.) and Blake Harris (Fort Wayne, Ind.) top the charts in the 3000 meter steeplechase and 5000 (Gudeman) as well as the 10,000 (Harris), while the women have senior distance runner Mariah Jordan (Fort Wayne, Ind.) leading the way in the 5000 and 10,000; freshman distance runner Hannah Wappes (Columbia City, Ind.) sitting first in the 1500; senior throws standout Shay Aator (West Lafayette, Ind.) ranked first in the hammer; junior thrower Kara Breuckman (Crown Point, Ind.) listed second in the javelin; and sophomore sprinter Dasia Beck (Indianapolis, Ind.) having clocked the second-fastest 100 meter dash time … The conference charts aren't the only area where the Black and Gold have high residence. On the NCAA Division III performances, Aator has the 15th-longest hammer toss after her school record launch of 51.07 meters (167 feet, seven inches) at the Indiana Division III Championships April 15 and Jordan and fellow classmate Tiffany Harber (Columbia City, Ind.) are No. 12 and 33, respectively, in the 10,000 (Jordan – 36:29.5/Harber – 37:45.3) both of which were registered at the season-opening Washington University of Missouri spring meet late last month … Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Brian Cashdollar and his staff can hope for both teams to continue the crescendo path they began last weekend. As examples, Gudeman, in just his first try at the steeplechase, set the best HCAC time, was just outside the top 50 nationally and clocked the second-quickest time in his career (9:45.99); Aator fired off her career-best hammer throw by nearly three full meters; Wappes, in her first attempt at an outdoor 1500, ran the conference's fastest time and was just off the school's all-time top 10 (4:58.87); and junior women's thrower Jacey Cauhorn (Kendallville, Ind.) enjoyed the sunny weather at DePauw University's Blackstock Stadium setting career bests in the shot put (11.72 meters – 38 feet, five and a half inches) and the hammer (43.43 meters – 142 feet, six inches) among many strong efforts.

2017 HCAC Championships: Anderson University's Macholtz Stadium is the host site Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29.
