TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Carding a pair of rounds that nearly dipped below 80 Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17 and 18, junior Katie Smith (Wabash, Ind.) found herself among the individual top 10 at the conclusion of the Rose-Hulman Invitational.
Playing the Hulman Links Golf Course, home of the 2016 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships to a 163 36-hole total, Smith was just a shot out of the top five. Her efforts were part of an 11-stroke improvement from Saturday to Sunday which included sophomore Emily Milburn (Lebanon, Ind.) carving 17 shots off her first round score (110-94). MU's 737 team score was just eight shots shy of the top six.
The Black and Gold continue their fall campaign Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24 and 25, traveling to Lexington, Ky., for the Transylvania University Invitational.
