ADA, OHIO – Manchester University freshman goalkeeper Jared Hallal (Indianapolis, Ind.) turned in a strong night in net, highlighting the Black and Gold's clash with Ohio Northern University.

In the face of a 24-4 shots advantage for the No. 24-ranked National Soccer Coaches Association of America Polar Bears, Hallal knocked away nine attempts at the MU goal. However, the home team managed to sneak two past in the opening 48 minutes en route to the 2-0 non-conference win.

The Spartans' offensive attack came from the freshman duo of defender Michael Cheesman (Carmel, Ind.) and midfielder Colin Singer (Columbus, Ind.). Singer fired three attempts with two on goal, while Cheesman added the other which was also on goal.

Manchester University wraps up its regular season non-conference slate Saturday, Sept. 27. Illinois Tech comes to Spartan Field for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
