Sammi Miller was added to the Manchester University softball staff in August 2022. The 2023 spring season marked Miller's first season with the Spartan softball program.

In her first season with the Spartans, Miller helped guide the Spartans back into the post season for the first time since the 2018 season behind a 23-20 overall record and a 10-6 conference mark. The last time the Black and Gold won 20 or more games in a single season was back in 2016, and the Spartans' 353 hits on the season set a new Manchester school record for number of hits by a team in a single season.

Miller joined the Manchester softball program after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) with a Masters in Sports Administration in May of 2022. Miller joined the Colonel softball program after transferring from Virginia Tech to begin her sophomore year. During her time at EKU, Miller was a member of the 2021 team that won the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament to advance to the Regional Tournament. Miller earned a number of accolades as a Colonel, including being named to the All-OVC Newcomer Team, the All-OVC Second Team and All-OVC First Team. Miller also earned OVC All-Tournament Team honors twice during her collegiate career. During her senior campaign, Miller also earned all EKU Co-Female Athlete of the year honors.
