FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Playing in their final regular season match, the seniors of the Manchester University men's tennis team –
Andrew Kibler,
Trevor Johnson,
Samuel Hollingsworth, and
Blake Rentschler – were all honored on Saturday afternoon during their match against the Hanover College Panthers. The quartet has been a staple of the men's tennis program since Fall 2018.
During Saturday's match, the no. 2 doubles duo of
Austin Arnold (Coatesville, Ind./South Putnam) &
Trevor Johnson (Austin, Ind./Austin) pushed the Panther duo of Pablo Gallart & Jaya Sivesh in a competitive 8-6 match.
In singles play,
Andrew Kibler (Cape Coral, Fla./Mariner) dropped a narrow 6-3, 7-5 decision to Jaya Sivesh at the no. 3 position.
The Spartans will look ahead to the HCAC Tournament, which is scheduled to begin next week. Times and opponents are still TBD and will be announced by the league office when they are confirmed.
