NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its all-academic athletes and all-academic teams for the 2023 NCAA Division III track & field seasons on Friday, July 14.
On the women's side, Standouts Brooke Bouwens (Lake Odessa, Mich., Lakewood) and Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) were honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes.
To qualify for this recognition, athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.30 and must have finished the indoor or outdoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS.
Bouwens ranked 46th in the 400m hurdles during the outdoor season. Camp ranked 15th in the shot put on the indoor circuit while ranking 14th during the outdoor season.
Additionally, the Manchester women's track and field program garnered All-Academic Team recognition from the USTFCCCA this year after posting a collective team grade point average of 3.51.
On the men's side, Manchester senior standouts Enrique Salazar (Plymouth, Ind., Plymouth) and Ben Villafuerte (Angola, Ind., Angola) were honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes.
Salazar ranked 34th in the 3,000m during the indoor circuit and 8th in the 10,000m during the outdoor season. Villafuerte ranked 9th in the shot put in the indoor circuit while ranking 29th during the outdoor season.
