Reed Christiansen, a North Manchester native, returns to the Manchester University men's and women's swim program as a diving coach.
Christiansen first coached the Spartan divers in 2018 and saw Anjel Clemente set the 1M 6-dive school record and qualify for NCAA DIII Diving Regionals.
A Manchester High School graduate in 2000, Christiansen won three Sectional titles in the 1-meter springboard event (1998, 1999, 2000), one Regional title (1999), was a State Qualifier three times (1998, 1999, 2000), and was a finalist in 2000 placing 11th. He won three Three Rivers Conference titles in the 1-meter springboard event (1998, 1999, 2000) and is the current Manchester High School record holder in the 6-dive and 11-dive events.
Christiansen served as Manchester High School diving coach in 2002 and led the Huntington North boy's and girls' swim teams as head coach from 2008-2011, earning Sectional Coach of the Year honors in 2010. During his four years with the Vikings, Coach Christiansen's teams produced six conference champions, two diving regional qualifiers, seven state qualifiers, and two state finalists.
Christiansen graduated from Huntington University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and earned his MBA from Huntington University.
Reed and his wife Jennifer reside in Huntington with their four children: Braeden, Ava, Mason, and Brinlee
