Coaching Bio Header - Biography 2

Josh Dzurick will enter his 22nd year as a part of the Manchester University Athletics' staff in 2025-26.

For the past 20 years, Dzurick has been an integral member of the Manchester community. Since arriving in North Manchester in 2004, Dzurick has held numerous roles within the athletic department.  His coaching resume within the department includes serving as both an assistant coach and as the head coach for the women's basketball program, serving as both an assistant coach and as the head coach for the softball program, and serving as the associate director of athletics for compliance.

Currently, Coach Dzurick serves as the Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance, head women's basketball coach, and volunteer softball coach. Dzurick completed 19th season as the head women's basketball coach at Manchester University in 2023-24.

Coach Dzurick spent one season as an assistant coach of the women’s basketball program before taking over as its head coach in 2005.  During his time at the helm of the women's basketball program, Dzurick has led the Spartans to more than 180 victories, seven winning seasons and a pair of 20-plus win campaigns.  Under Dzurick's guidance, Manchester won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference outright in 2007 and a share of the league title in 2008. The two-time Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year helped the Black and Gold to three straight HCAC Tournament titles (2006-2008) and three consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.  

Dzurick mentored the 2005-06 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year in Stacy Wendell. Wendell also earned HCAC Tournament MVP honors in 2006. Coach Dzurick also helped develop the two-time HCAC Tournament MVP Sarah Bose (2007 & 2008). In 2009, Kelley Meiklejohn, a current member of the Manchester Hall of Fame, earned Second Team All-Great Lakes Region honors. In 2021, forward Tiara Jackson was named the HCAC Newcomer of the Year. A year later in 2022, first-year guard Eva Bazzanoi was named to the HCAC Newcomer Team.

Coach Dzurick's basketball players have earned 44 All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference awards during his tenure. In the classroom, the Manchester women's basketball program has produced 74 Academic All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honorees. Coach Dzurick's program also earned a prestigious Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 ranking for three consecutive years from 2017-20. The 2017-18 team posted a combined GPA of 3.617, ranking 14th in all of NCAA Division III. The 2018-19 women's basketball team landed the No. 25 spot in the WBCA Academic Top 25 poll after finishing with a team GPA of 3.538. The 2019-20 squad earned the No. 19 national ranking from the WBCA after compiling a team GPA of 3.667.

Dzurick led the Manchester softball program from 2015-2020. During his stint as skipper, Manchester won more than 75 games and appeared in a pair of HCAC Tournaments. Dzurick's program produced 18 All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference performers, a pair of HCAC Freshman of the Year winners, and the school's first-ever National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American. In the classroom, 13 softball student-athletes have achieved Academic All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference status.

A pillar in the Manchester community, Coach Dzurick's programs actively give back to those in need. Both the women's basketball and softball programs teamed up to shown their strength, love, and support for Manchester University faculty member Dr. Heather Schilling, who's 27-year old daughter Elizabeth, has been battling stage four brain cancer. The Dr. Schilling feature story can be found Here.

Dzurick completed his undergraduate degree in business and sports management at Tiffin University in 1999.  He earned a master’s degree from Bowling Green State in 2002. He resides in North Manchester.
