Coach Eric Christiansen's Spartans, improving to 6-3 overall and 4-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action, received straight-set victories from junior Kara Gilley (Plymouth, Ind.), junior Brandy Leeper (Bremen, Ind.), senior Alli Heeter (Nappanee, Ind.) and junior Amanda Keating (Lafayette, Ind.). Gilley and Leeper also added an important win at number one doubles to help seal the team decision.

MU, winners of five of its last six, close regular season HCAC play with a key 12 p.m. meeting against Rose-Hulman Saturday, Oct. 6, in Terre Haute.
