Box Score Pruden, recording her third double-figure kill total in five matches, hammered 13 kills and registered a sparkling .300 attack percentage during a 25-14, 25-22, 25-20 sweep of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Earlham. Coach Kendra Marlowe's Spartans, going to 3-2 on the season with the non-conference win, opened up early leads in all three sets but had to fight off strong comebacks from the visiting Quakers (2-3) in sets two and three to gain victories.
Pruden was joined by fellow freshman front liner Devin Clark (Madison, Ind.) at the head of the offense's statistics' sheet. She had six kills and only one error in 12 attempts for a .417 attack percentage.
Other team leaders for the Black and Gold were freshman libero Meika Kennedy (North Manchester, Ind.) (13 digs), freshman setter Mikayla Munn (Elkhart, Ind.) (23 assists), and Pruden, sophomore Morgan Yoder (Goshen, Ind.) and freshman Morgan Pavelka (Noblesville, Ind.) (two service aces each).
Manchester resumes the 2012 campaign by competing in the Aurora University of Illinois Spartan Invitational Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7 and 8. MU will play North Central and Lake Forest Friday at 4 and 8:30 p.m. and Rockford and the host Spartans at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.
