INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – A fifth straight appearance in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference postseason Championships wrapped up Saturday, Oct. 18, for Manchester University.

The sixth-seeded Spartans, dipping to 4-8, were topped by third-seeded Franklin College 5-0 in one of two quarterfinals. Junior Megan Buckner (Muncie, Ind.) and freshman Alisha Paddock (Alexandria, Ind.) battled to four game victories at No. 3 to highlight doubles' competition, while Buckner and sophomore Alaina Beckner (Columbia City, Ind.) were the only two Black and Gold singles' players to complete their matches after FC swept through doubles and claimed the first two singles' decisions to stop the dual.

NOTES: Freshman Erin Cordill (Zionsville, Ind.) and sophomore Adriana Brown (Columbia City, Ind.) concluded the fall one-two in singles wins with seven and five, respectively … Cordill joined fellow freshman Katy Ashpole (Leesburg, Ind.) to top the doubles' win chart (five).
