HANOVER, IND. – The trio of sophomore Courtney Chowning (Yorktown, Ind.) and juniors Sarah Pruden (Noblesville, Ind.) and Morgan Pavelka (Noblesville, Ind.) guided Manchester University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday, Oct. 4.

Chowning drilled seven kills, while Pruden and Pavelka tallied six and five, respectively, for the Spartans (4-14 overall, 0-2 HCAC) in a three-set loss at the hands of Hanover College. Beyond those numbers, MU's offense struggled inside Collier Arena, hitting only .024, while the host Panthers (9-11, 1-0 HCAC) produced a strong .215 team attack percentage en route to the 25-16, 25-14, 25-17 decision.

Other top stats for Coach Bryndon Paulsen's squad came from junior setter Mikayla Munn (Elkhart, Ind.) with 18 assists and two service aces; Pavelka with two blocks; and freshman defensive specialist Megan Robbins (Connersville, Ind.), as she accumulated 11 digs.

The Spartans resume their current road stretch with a 1 p.m. match Sunday, Oct. 5, at Transylvania University of Kentucky.
