LEXINGTON, KY. – Manchester University junior Mikayla Munn (Elkhart, Ind.) made some history during a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match-up with Transylvania University Sunday, Oct. 5.

The setter became just the third Black and Gold individual to reach 2,000 career assists during TU's hard-fought 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 decision inside the Beck Center. Her 29 also took her into second on the all-time list (2,013).

MU (4-15, 0-3 HCAC) posted respectable attack numbers despite the defeat. The duo of sophomore outside hitter Courtney Chowning (Yorktown, Ind.) and junior middle hitter Morgan Pavelka (Noblesville, Ind.) guided the effort, as Chowning tallied a team-high 12, and Pavelka contributed nine and a sparkling .438 individual attack percentage. The Spartans' middle hitter also added two service aces and five blocks.

The Spartans break away from league play Wednesday, Oct. 8, traveling to Goshen College for an 8 p.m. first serve.
