Box Score 2 NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Junior middle hitter Morgan Pavelka shone brightly for Manchester University during the final day of their home invitational Saturday, Sept. 13.
The Noblesville, Ind., got the home crowd inside Stauffer-Wolfe Arena to its feet with a scintillating .500 attack percentage which featured 20 kills and only four errors in 32 chances. She also added a team-high six total blocks en route to all-tournament honors. MU, winding up the weekend with two wins in four matches, managed to improve to 2-10 with a four-set win over Wilmington College of Ohio after eventual tourney champion Ohio Wesleyan University swept past them to open the afternoon.
Sophomore outside hitter Courtney Chowning (Yorktown, Ind.) led the Black and Gold with 26 kills, while junior outside hitter Sarah Pruden (Noblesville, Ind.) checked in with 18 and served a squad-leading five ace serves. Chowning also registered 31 digs, and junior setter Mikayla Munn (Elkhart, Ind.) tallied 72 assists to round out the home side's leaders.
The Spartans begin a brief three-match road swing Tuesday, Sept. 16, with an 8 p.m. start at Indiana University – Northwest.
