Box Score 2 FRANKLIN, IND. – The middle hitting duo of freshman Hannah Tevis (Royal Center, Ind.) and senior Morgan Pavelka (Noblesville, Ind.) resumed its strong start to the 2015 season Saturday, Sept. 26.
Tevis hammered 23 kills, recorded a sparkling .391 attack percentage and finished with five total blocks which included three solos. Pavelka registered a .279 attack percentage, 18 kills, three service aces and a solo block as well, as Manchester University gave Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Franklin College a stiff test inside its Spurlock Center, falling 19-25, 25-22, 18-25, 28-30 and then being defeated in three sets by Ohio Athletic Conference member Otterbein University 24-26, 21-25, 12-25.
Senior outside hitter Sarah Pruden (Noblesville, Ind.) and freshman setter Dakota Stanichuk (Troy, Mich.) also had good afternoon totals. Pruden had a double-double in kills and digs (19/17), while Stanichuk led the squad in assists (79) and digs (22) and was one of four individuals to finish with three service aces.
MU (5-9 overall, 0-1 HCAC) returns to league action Wednesday, Sept. 30, with an 8 p.m. first serve at Rose-Hulman.
NOTES: Stanichuck's consistency resumed at Franklin. She recorded her 11th match of 20-or-more assists, in route to surpassing the 400-mark for the season, and sixth outing with multiple service aces … Tevis did the same. She compiled her fifth double-digit kill total and sixth match with an attack percentage of .300 or better (16/.517 vs. Franklin), while her seven blocks against the Grizzlies marked the eighth time this season she's ended with multiples … Pavelka highlighted the Otterbein match with 10 kills, a .500 attack percentage, and two service aces.
