NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Junior Erin Cordill (Zionsville, Ind.) and sophomore Mariam Aly (Giza, Egypt) each upped their singles' win strings to four, and the doubles' pairings of Aly and Cordill and seniors Alaina Beckner (Columbia City, Ind.) and Adriana Brown (Columbia City, Ind.) did the same, leading Manchester University to a fourth successive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference dual victory Wednesday, Sept. 21.
Coach Eric Christiansen's squad, improving to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the league, took control from the get-go at MU's courts. The three doubles' teams dropped just two games to the visiting Yellowjackets. The theme continued in singles' play, as Aly and junior Katie Peden (North Manchester, Ind.) both picked up straight-set blankings (6-0, 6-0) as part of a run in which the Black and Gold was beaten in 10 total games.
The Spartans, resuming the program's best conference start since 2007, welcomes Franklin College for another loop dual Saturday, Sept. 24. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
