CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Manchester University men's and women's swimming teams began their seasons today at the Indiana Division III Invitational hosted by Wabash College.
The Spartans competed against swimmers from Rose-Hulman, DePauw, Hanover, and Wabash.
On the women's side, Manchester placed fourth in both the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays. The 200-yard team of Maria Wells, Emily Tyler, Mackenzie Hoover, and Sierra Caster clocked in a time of 2:29.12. The 400-yard team consisted of Wells, Shelby Kell, Jimena Torres, and Katie Blystone. That group posted a final time of 4:16.35.
Kell had a pair of solid individual performances on Saturday, placing sixth in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:15.47) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.85).
On the men's side, Christian Poole finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 22.35.
Manchester will compete next weekend at the Purdue Invite on Saturday October 19.
