ELKHART, Ind. – The Manchester University swimming & diving teams were back in action on Saturday January 11.

The Spartans competed against the Bethel (Ind.) University Pilots in dual meet action in Elkhart this afternoon.

The women's squad topped Bethel's women by a final score of 92-87. The MU men scored 50 points. Bethel's men ended the afternoon with 106 points.

Mackenzie Hoover (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) placed first in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 32.25. Hoover also placed first in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard IM.

Katie Blystone (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a final time of 1:09.65.

Shelby Kell (Morristown, Ind./Eastern Hancock) earned an event win in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 27.43.

On the men's side, Christain Poole (Anderson, Ind./Anderson) added first-place finishes in both the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly.

The mixed 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kell, Poole, Maria Wells, and Jacob Ramer beat out Bethel's relay team on Saturday.

Manchester will host Hanover College in the Strauss-Peabody Aquatics Center next weekend on Saturday January 18 beginning at 1 p.m.
