HANOVER, Ind. – The Manchester University football team suffered a road Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference defeat at Hanover College on Saturday October 30.
The Panthers racked up 674 yards of total offense while limiting the Black & Gold to just 66 yards of offense en route to a 33-0 victory.
The Panthers ran for three scores and were led on the ground by quarterback Matthew Weimar's 117 yards. Shawn Coane added 90 yards and a score on the ground. Weimar was also lethal in the air, throwing for 369 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Jared Frank hauled in 6 passes for 134 yards and a score.
Hanover possessed the ball for more than 36 minutes in Saturday's contest.
Willis Sands Jr (Miramar, Fla./Miramar) led Manchester with a career-high 14 total tackles on the day. He also broke up a pass.
Jalen Masden (Evansville, Ind./Harrison) filled the stat sheet with 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.0 sack, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery against the Panthers.
Josue Castro (Miami, Fla./Westland Hialeah) added 9 tackles against Hanover.
Manchester (2-6, 2-3 HCAC) will look to get back into the win column next weekend when it travels to Bluffton University in Ohio.
Hanover College (5-3, 4-1 HCAC) won for the third straight week. The Panthers will look to extend their winning streak next weekend at Mount St. Joseph.
