RICHMOND, Ind. – The Manchester University volleyball team was knocked off in four sets at Earlham College on Saturday October 9.
The Quakers defended their home court by claiming the match by set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, and 25-21.
Samantha Campbell (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) led the Manchester offense with 11 kills on the strength of a .296 swinging percentage. She added a solo block and block assist.
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) added a pair of solo blocks and block assists.
Carly Ripberger (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) finished the match with 19 assists while
Helaina Walters (Marion, Ind./Eastbrook) led Manchester with 12 digs.
The host Quakers hit .211 in Saturday's match. Maria Young finished with 20 kills. Giselle Mora added 14 kills for Earlham. Erin Wagner, Earlham's all-time leader in assists, finished with 38 helpers on Saturday. She also added a team-high 14 digs.
Manchester (8-10, 0-3 HCAC) will look for its first conference win of the season on Wednesday October 13. The Black & Gold are scheduled to host the Defiance Yellow Jackets in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena at 7 p.m.
Earlham improved to 13-5, 2-1 with the win.
