OLIVET, Mich. – Turnovers and big plays on special teams continued to plague the Spartans as the Manchester University football team fell on the road at Olivet College by a final score of 59-7 on Saturday September 18.
The Comets began the game with a 97-yard kickoff return and never let off the gas as the Spartans committed 5 turnovers in the contest.
Manchester was held to just 150 yards of offense on Saturday afternoon. Olivet's defense came away with four interceptions and recovered a fumble. Offensively, the Comets posted 248 yards of total offense.
MU's lone score of the game came in the 4th quarter when Harrington Greer (South Bend, Ind./Riley) caught a 16-yard pass from Eric James (Indianapolis, Ind./Decatur Central).
Olivet's Jeremiah Sterling had three rushing touchdowns on Saturday to lead the Comets.
Manchester (0-3) will head into a bye week before beginning Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on the road at Franklin College on Saturday October 2. Kickoff from Franklin is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
