ADRIAN, Mich. – The Manchester University women's tennis team dropped a pair of non-conference matches to begin its season on Sunday September 5.

The Spartans fell to both Ohio Northern and Adrian College by final counts of 9-0.

Against the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern, the Manchester duos of Evelyn Minton and Maddy Russow and Natalie Kotlin and Anna Hollingsworth both won three games in their No.1 and No.2 doubles matches.

In singles action, newcomer Avin Demaso (South Bend, Ind./Riley) won three games in the opening set against ONU's Julianne Sheldon. Demaso would also win a game in the second set before dropping a 6-3, 6-1 decision at the No. 6 flight.

The Spartans (0-2) will travel to Huntington on Thursday September 9 for a 4 pm matchup against the Foresters.
