NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Spartans hosted the Pioneers of Transylvania University at the MU Tennis Courts on Sunday in their last regular season match. The team fell 0-9, but had great fight at many positions.
In doubles both the No. 1 pair of Eva Bazzoni (Wabash, Ind., Manchester) and Ella Knight (Leesburg, Ind., Kalamazoo) and the No. 3 pair of Avin Demaso (South Bend, Ind., Riley) and Jordyn Riegle (Attica, Ind., Attica) push their matches to match tiebreaks before dropping the contest 7-8 (2), and 7-8 (1) respectively.
In singles play, the Spartans had a great fight up and down the lineup. At No. 1 singles, Knight claimed her first set 6-3, before dropping the match in a tiebreak 6-3, 2-6, [5-10].
Up next for Manchester is the HCAC tournament. The 6 seed Spartans play the 3 seed, Rose-Hulman, in Terre Haute on Wednesday.
