NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind - The Manchester men's soccer team honored its senior class following Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup against the Earlham College Quakers on Good Field. The Spartan recognized Elliott Mozingo (Fishers, Ind., Fishers), Ruben Gonzalez (Sylvania, Ohio, Sylvania Northview), Hunter Nikoloski (Hebron, Ind., Hebron), Samuel White (Vevay, Ind., Switzerland County), Juan Cabello (Anderson, Ind., Liberty Christian), and Logan Tatalovich (Valparaiso, Ind., Boone Grove).
The Black and Gold shutout the visiting Quakers 3-1.
The Spartan's struck early, with a goal in the 4th minute by Cory Mitchell (Maitland, Fla., Winter Park), assisted by Noah Black (Swayzee, Ind., Mississinewa). Ruben Gonzalez would add another goal for MU in the 17th minute, assisted by Elliott Mozingo. Earlham struck first in the second half with a goal by Quentin Berry in the 56th minute, but Manchester was quick to answer, scoring their third goal of the day in the same minute by Gonzalez, his second on the day. The Spartans improved to 5-6-5, 4-1-3 HCAC.
Mason Douglas (Howe, Ind., Lakeland) and Cory Mitchell led the Spartans with five and four shots each on the day for the Black and Gold. First Year Aaron Ketchmark (Kouts, Ind., Kouts) had five saves in goal during 90 minutes of play Saturday.
The Quakers were led by Quentin Berry with four shots during Saturday's contest. Braden Guinn added two more shots for Earlham. Following Saturday's match, the Quakers fell to 3-11-1, 1-7 HCAC.
Manchester will conclude their regular season on the road Wednesday, October 25th. The Spartans will head to Bluffton for another HCAC matchup, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
