Spartan Volleyball Falls to Hanover in HCAC Home Opener

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester volleyball team hosted HCAC opponent, Hanover College, in a conference match over the weekend. 

Manchester took set one, 25-21, but ultimately lost to the Panthers 3-1 in the next three sets.  

Jessica Tarr (Fort Wayne, Ind., Snider) led the team in assists with 27, which helped the front line to attack. Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) led in kills with 8, followed by Joy Maze (Greenwood, Ind., Greenwood Community) with 7, and Halle Planck (Gas City, Ind., Mississinewa) with 6.  

The Spartans totaled 61 digs against the Panthers, while they only had 56. Helaina Walters (Marion, Ind., Eastbrook) led in digs with 18, followed by Avery Ball (Decatur, Ind., Belmont) with 15 and Rachael Ressler (Tipton, Ind., Tipton) with 9.  

Senior, Sara Shultz (Churubusco, Ind., East Noble) chipped in with two aces.

CC Shick led the Panthers in kills with 12, while Casey Dunn recorded 15 digs, with help from Aubrey Walton, who had 21 assists.  

Despite the loss, the Spartans are looking to gain their first conference win on the road this Wednesday, October 5th, at Bluffton. Match time against the Beavers is set for 6:30 pm in Ohio.
