NORTHÂ MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Spartans men's soccer team hosted Franklin College this evening at Spartan Stadium. Manchester displayed an offensive show beating the Griz 3-0.
The Spartans got ahead early thanks to a
Noah Black (Swayzee, Ind., Mississinewa)Â throughball played to the feet of
Ruben Gonzalez (Sylvania, Ohio, Sylvania Northview) who was able to finish to put Manchester up 1-0.Â
The second half opened with a Franklin hand ball in the box 4 minutes in.
Black stepped up to the spot to slot home his 4th goal of the season and to push the Spartan lead further 2-0.
In the final minutes of the match
Mason Douglas (Howe, Ind., Lakeland) forced a Franklin error. Douglas found himself one on one with the Grizzlies goalkeeper and was able to put the ball in the back of the net. Â
Manchester's defense earned another clean sheet on the evening.
Aaron Ketchmark (Kouts, Ind., Kouts)Â earned his first career win on the evening.
Ketchmark accumulated 3 saves on the night.
The Spartans will be back in action this Saturday as they will travel down Transylvania. The match is set to kickoff at 4:00 p.m.
