NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University women's basketball team fell to the No. 3 ranked Transylvania Pioneers in HCAC play on Monday, December 19th.
Maddi Smith (Kewanna, Ind., Caston) lead the Black and Gold with 7 points. Jessie Ringen (Rensselaer, Ind., Rensselaer Central) and Mia Shields (Arcadia, Ind., Hamilton Heights)s each chipped in 5 points, while Ally Graber (Mooresville, Ind., Mooresville) finished the afternoon with a team-high 5 rebounds and 3 steals. As a team, the Spartans shot 25.5% from the field and 66.7% from the free throw line.
Laken Ball led the Pioneers with 24 points and 9 rebounds during Monday's game. Dasia Thornton added 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Madison Kellione chipped in 9 points and 4 assists for Transy. Kennedi Stacy led Transylvania with 3 steals. As a team, the Pioneers shot 46.3% from the field and 65.2% from the free throw line. Transylvania won their 10th consecutive game and improve to 10-0, 4-0 HCAC.
Up next, Manchester women's basketball will head to Berea, Ohio to compete in the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on December 29th and 30th. Manchester will first take-on the host Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. The consolation and championship games will be held on December 30th.
