CARMEL, Ind. – Manchester University senior Mallory Sands has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday March 28.

Sands (Gas City, Ind./Mississinewa) helped key the Black & Gold's first win of the season over the weekend against Grace Christian. Sands teamed up with Avin Demaso for a 6-3 win at no. 3 Doubles. Sands would then rally for a thrilling three-set win at no. 4 singles 4-6, 6-1, 12-10.

The Spartans' win over the Tigers were their first victory since September 2019.
