Distance Carnival in early April – a time of 29:46.52 which has him seeded 12
th in the event.
Both the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Distance Indoor and Outdoor MVP, Salazar was the top point scorer for the Black & Gold at this year's conference championships and held lead the Spartans to their first-ever track & field titles. The four-time HCAC Male Track Athlete of the Week established five new school records in 2022. Salazar was named Manchester University's Male Athlete of the Year on May 9.
