Spartans Drop Season Opener to the Brits

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Spartans women's soccer team dropped their season opener to Albion this afternoon. 

The Spartans hung tough with the Britons through the first half, only trailing by two goals. The Spartans then conceded the third goal in the 72nd minute. The Brits were led by Rayna Edwards, who led the in the scoring column with a brace in the match. 

First year goalkeeper Brie Spagnolo (Brandenton, Fla./Manatee) had a solid showing in her colligate debut. Spagnolo racked up 6 saves in goal. 

The Spartans hit the road this weekend traveling to Greencastle, Ind. to take on Depauw. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
