MU Women's Tennis Claim First Conference Victory Over Earlham 7-2

Box Score NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Spartans played host to Earlham College in conference action on Saturday at the MU Tennis Courts. MU claimed the team victory 7-2 for their first conference win of the year and first conference win since 2019.

In doubles action, the second pairing of Ella Knight (Leesburg, Ind., Kalamazoo) and Natalie Kotlin (Lowell, Ind., Lowell) started the team off with a 8-0 win. MU won the third doubles contest via walkover.

In singles play, Knight dropped a tough 2-6, 2-6 decision at the top flight, but the rest of the team handled the Quakers in their singles matches. Eva Bazzoni (Wabash, Ind., Manchester), Evelyn Minton (Clarksville, Ind., Jeffersonville), and Courtney Trusty (North Judson, Ind., North Judson) all won their contests without dropping a game at 2-. 3-, and 4-singles respectively. Avin Demaso (South Bend, Ind., Riley) rounded out the contest at 5 singles, winning her match 6-1, 6-0. The Spartans also earned a walkover victory at 6 singles.

The Spartans are next in action on Monday as they travel to nearby Grace College. The match is scheduled to start at 5 PM.
