Women's Soccer Defeats Blufton in Season Finale

North Manchester, IND.- The Manchester women's soccer team defeated the Bluffton University Beavers 2-1 to wrap up the 2023 campaign on Wednesday, October 25. 
The Beavers opened scoring early, netting a goal in the 4th minute of action. The Spartans would answer, tying the score at 1-1 thanks to a goal by Grace Papazoglou (Commack, NY., Commack) in the 19th minute. Audrey Spencer (Marian, Ind., Mississinewa) assisted on Manchester's first goal of the afternoon. 

Jada Carter (Fort Wayne, Ind., Snider) would net the deciding goal, scoring her first collegiate career goal in the 77th minute, assisted by Elaina Halferty (Columbia City, Ind., Eagle Tech Academy).  As a team, the Spartans took eight shots during Wednesday's contest, six of which landed on goal. Bluffton took 15 total shots, landing 10 on goal.

Madilyn VanDerWeele (Tippecanoe, Ind., Argos) collected nine saves in goal for the Black and Gold.  The Spartans finish the season with an overall record of 2-14 and a conference record of 2-14.
