CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Manchester women's volleyball team faced the #14 Mount St. Joseph Lions in the semifinal round of the HCAC Tournament on Saturday, November 11.
The Lions took the opening two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-16. The Spartans would battle back to force a fourth set after taking set three 25-23. Mount St. Joseph would hang on to win, taking a close battle in set four 25-22.Â
As a team, the Spartans hit .160 on the day with 42 kills, including an impressive .323 hitting percentage during the fourth set of Saturday's match. Mount St. Joseph hit .282 as a team with 54 kills.Â
Joy Maze (Greenwood, Ind., Greenwood Community) led the Black and Gold with 16 kills in the match. She was followed by
Avery Ball (Decatur, Ind., Belmont) with 10 kills and
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) with seven kills. Camp also collected a team-high three blocks during Saturday's match.Â
Emma Tone (Fort Wayne, Ind., Bishop Dwenger) had 18 assists on the afternoon, while
Alexa Kouskousakis (Rochester, Ind., Rochester Community) tallied 17 assists for MU.Â
First-year
Tiffany Watterson (Elkhart, Ind., Elkhart) led with 19 digs.
Ball added 11 digs, while
Maze collected 10 digs during Saturday's match.Â

Joy Maze was named to the 2023Â HCAC All-Tournament team on Saturday night.
Manchester concludes the 2023 season with an overall record of 17-10 and a conference record of 6-3. The Spartans finished fourth in the HCAC and advanced to the tournament semifinals for the first time since 2015.Â
