CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Four school records and several new top 10 marks were set by the Manchester University swimming and diving teams at the Gail
Pebworth Invitational hosted by Wabash College on November 17-19.
The women's 200-yard medley relay team consisting of
Taelynn Benish,
Eamin Lynch,
Ashlynn Malloy, and
Stephanie Roman broke the Manchester school record with a time of 1:58.51.
Roman also broke the school record in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:04.94.
The men's 800-yard freestyle relay team consisting of
Logan Davis, Michael DeBartolo, Payton Elsrod, and
Hung Tran swam their way to a new school record with a time of 7:28.10.
Tran also broke the Manchester school record in the 100-yard IM with a time of 57.68 and set a new top-10 mark in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.56.
Two of the men's 400-yard medley relay teams set new top-10 times on Saturday. The 400-yard medley relay team consisting of
Jaden Chin Hong, Colten Schulte, Hung Tran, and
Parker York finished with a time of 3:41.92. Their time stands as the second fastest time in school history, while the 400-yard medley relay team consisting of
Logan Davis, Conner Shannon, Michael DeBartolo, and
Payton Elsrod finished with a time of 3:51.31 which stands as the fifth fastest time in school history.
The team 400-yard freestyle relay team (
Payton Elsrod, Colten Schulte, Hung Tran, and Parker York) finished the event in a time of 3:51.31. Their time currently stands as the second fastest time in program history.
Schulte's time of 1:50.62 in the 200-yard freestyle stands as the fourth-best mark in program history.
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team (
Eamin Lynch, Ashlynn Malloy, Stephanie Roman and
Alix Oden) finished in a time of 1:46.27, which stands as the third fastest time in school history. The 400-yard freestyle relay team (
Eamin Lynch, Ashlynn Malloy, Alix Oden and
Stephanie Roman) finished in a time of 4:01.41. Their time currently stands as the third fastest time in school history.
Benish's time of 2:52.95 in the 200-yard breaststroke stands as the second fastest time in program history.
The Spartan men scored 134 points on the day, while the women tallied 132 team points.
The Manchester swimming and diving teams are off until Friday, December 8 when they travel to Springfield, Ohio to compete against Wittenberg University at 6:00 p.m.
