NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 decision against Rose-Hulman in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game on Saturday, November 4.
As a team, the Spartans narrowly outshot Rose-Hulman 11-9, with six shots landing on goal. Both teams took six corner kicks during Saturday night's match.
The Fightin' Engieers scored the lone goal of the match in the 34th minute of regulation. The game winner was scored by midfielder Connor Patton, assisted by Julias Salinas. Rose-Hulman will represent the HCAC in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Maruwe Exauce (Indianapolis, Ind., North Central), Cory Mitchell (Maitland, Fla., Winter Park), and
Noah Black (Swayzee, Ind., Mississinewa) were named to the 2023 HCAC All-Tournament team on Saturday night.
Manchester concludes on outstanding season with a 10-1-8 overall record, including a 6-0-3 record in conference play. The Spartans also clinched its first HCAC men's soccer regular season championship title since the 2003 season.
