NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester women's basketball team fell against visiting Franklin College by a final score of 78-58 on Saturday, December 16.
Franklin limited the Black and Gold to 16-55 shooting (29.1percent) in Saturday's contest, The Spartans were able to pull down 32 rebounds as a team and came away with eight steals.
The Grizzlies finished shooting 46.8% from the floor against the Spartans. Four Grizzlies scored in double digits on Saturday, including Lauren Bates with 16 points and eight rebounds. Franklin improves to 6-2, 3-1 HCAC.
Madison Stamm (Fortville, Ind., Anderson Prep) led the Black and Gold with nine points followed by
Jay'ana Blakely (Westville, Ind., Marquette Catholic) with eight points.
Hailee Kline (Huntington, Ind., Blackhawk Christian),
Maddi Smith (Kewanna, Ind., Caston) and
Mia Shields (Arcadia, Ind., Hamilton Heights) each had seven points apiece on Saturday.
Smith also finished with eight rebounds and two steals, while
Kline added three assists on the afternoon. Manchester is now 3-6 on the season and 0-4 in conference play.
