ANGOLA, Ind. – The Manchester men's tennis team took on Trine University on Thursday, March 16 in non-conference play. The Spartans lost to the Thunder 9-0.
Starting off doubles, the no. 1 pair of
Austin Arnold (Coatesville, Ind., South Putnam)and
Reece Romer (LaGrange, Ind., Lakeland) fell to Cole Goodman and Drew Dixon 8-2. Following at no. 2 doubles,
Brennan Beachy (Goshen, Ind., Westview) and
Braydon Hoggatt (Union City, Ind., Union City) were defeated 8-4 by their opponents. At no. 3 doubles,
Aiden Richardson (Knightstown, Knightstown) and
Omar Lemus (Portage, Ind., Portage) fell 8-0.
Continuing to singles play,
Austin Arnold dropped his match at no. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2 to Andrew
Spirrison. At no. 2 singles,
Reese Romer fell to Goodman 6-0, 6-2.
Brennan Beachy dropped his match 6-0, 6-0 at no. 3 singles. Following at no. 4 singles,
Brandon Hoggett was defeated by Dixon 6-0, 6-1. Both
Omar Lemus and
Aidan Richardson fell 6-0, 6-0 at no. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
Up next, the Spartans will face
Earlham College on March 25 in Richmond, In. Match time is set for 10:00 a.m.
