GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Manchester University outdoor track & field teams turned in some solid performances at the competitive Indiana D3 Championships hosted at DePauw University on Saturday, April 16.
Results
Five event wins and six podium finished highlighted Manchester's efforts.
On the men's side, Gabe Hendricks (Fort Wayne, Ind., Bishop Luers) earned Men's Field MVP honors during Saturday's meet. Hendricks took home the top honors in the shot put on Saturday. His leading mark of 15.80m was a new PR and currently ranks second best on the all-time MU Top 10 listings. Hendricks also placed fourth in the hammer throw with a new PR and Manchester top-10 mark of 50.29m.
Enrique Salazar (Plymouth, Ind., Plymouth) earned an event win in the 5000m run. Salazar clocked a top time of 14:32.35 on Saturday, setting a new Manchester school record and new track record at Blackstock Stadium.
Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind., Carroll) earned an event win in the 3000m steeplechase. Lohman's top time of 11:36.42 set a new meet record on Saturday.
Brooke Bouwens (Lake Odessa, Mich., Lakewood) took first in the women's 400m hurdles. She crosses the finish line in a time of 1:06.57. Bouwens also ran a new PR in the 200m with a sixth place finish and new top-10 mark of 27.07.
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) took home the top spot in the hammer throw with a leading mark of 46.73m. Camp also took third in the shot put with a distance of 12.98m.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Men
- Tristen Bronaugh (Crawfordsville, Ind., Crawfordsville) posted a third-place finish in the 400m dash after crossing the finish line with a time of 50.50.
- Quentin Willis (Athens, Ga., Oglethorpe) added a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a final mark of 58.76. Willis also finished the 110m hurdles in third place with a new Manchester top-10 mark of 15:38.
- Additionally, in the 5000m, Connor Havens (LaPorte, Ind., LaPorte) ran a new PR of 15:10.24, good enough for second place and currently ranks as the 7th fastest time in Manchester history.
Women
- Hannah Brubaker (Goshen, Ind., NorthWood) ran to a runner-up placement in the 5000m run after crossing the finish line in a time of 19:10.34.
UP NEXT
- The Spartans will have one final meet before the 2023 HCAC Championships at the end of the month.
- Manchester will compete at the two-day Mike Becraft Invite hosted at Ohio Northern on Friday & Saturday April 21-22 in Ada, Ohio.
