HANOVER, Ind. - The Manchester men's tennis team traveled to Hanover College to take on the Panthers on Saturday, April 8. The Spartans were defeated 9-0 in and move to 2-13 overall, 1-4 HCAC.
The no. 1 doubles pair of
Austin Arnold (Coatesville, Ind., South Putnam) and
Reece Romer (LaGrange, Ind., Lakeland) fell to Joey Keal and Charley Williams 8-2. At no. 2 doubles, the pair of
Brennan Beachy (Goshen, Ind., Westview) and
Braydon Hoggatt (Union City, Ind., Union City) fell 8-0.
Omar Lemus (Portage, Ind., Portage) and
Aiden Richardson (Knightstown, Knightstown) were defeated 8-1 at no. 3 doubles.
To start singles play,
Arnold was defeated by Keal 6-1, 6-0.
Romer fell at no. 2 singles by a scores of 6-2 and 6-2. At no. 3 singles,
Beachy was defeated by Abhay Singh 6-0 and 6-0. Following at no. 4 singles,
Hoggatt lost to his opponent by scores of 6-0 and 6-3.
Lemus fell at no. 5 singles 6-1, 6-0. Rounding out singles play was
Richardson, who was defeated by his opponent 6-0, 6-0.
The Spartans have two matches remaining in the spring 2023 season. Up next, Manchester men's and women's tennis will travel to Mishawaka, Ind. to take on the Bethel Pilots on Thursday, April 13. Start time is set for 4:00 p.m.
