ALBION, Mich. - The Manchester men's tennis team was bested by the Britons of Albion College in a non-conference match on Monday, September 18.
Albion took Monday's match by a final score of 9-0.
In doubles action, the duo of
Braydon Hoggatt (Union City, Ind., Union City) and
Henry Blakely (Zionsville, Ind., Zionsville) fell at the no. 1 spot to Jacob Doyle and Josh Doyle 8-4.
Omar Lemus (Portage, Ind., Portage) and
Brennan Beachy (Goshen, Ind., Westview) tested the no. 3 doubles pairing from Alboin, losing a hard fought battle to Brendan Morrison and Jacob Kubiak by a final score of 8-5.
At the no. 5 singles flight,
Blakely dropped a competitive match to Albion's Josh Doyle 6-4, 6-3.
Up next, Manchester men's tennis will travel to Franklin, Ind. to take on both Franklin College and Transylvania University on Saturday, September 23. The Spartans and Pioneers will go head-to-head in HCAC action at 11:00 a.m. Manchester will then face Franklin in a conference match at 4:00 p.m.
