FRANKLIN, Ind. - Manchester men's tennis competed against the Franklin College Grizzlies and Transylvania University Pioneers in HCAC action on Saturday, September 23.
Manchester first-year
Henry Blakley (Zionsville, Ind., Zionsville) led the Spartans, winning both his single matches in super tiebreaks.
Against Transylvania,
Blakley won his no. 5 singles matchup against Parker Moyano 6-3, 4-6, 11-9. During the Black and Gold's second match of the day,
Blakley picked up another win at no. 4 singles against Franklin's Lucas Densford 0-6, 6-2, 11-9.
In doubles action,
Blakley and
Braydon Hoggatt (Union City, Ind., Union City) tested the no. 1 doubles pairing of Dustin Garrison and Layton Stieneker against Franklin, dropping the competitive match 8-6.
Brennan Beachy (Goshen, Ind., Westview) also had a competitive match against Franklin, winning three games in the first set and five in the second set against Nathan Jarboe.
Manchester men's and women's tennis will return to the courts on Tuesday, September 26 at Huntington University starting at 4:00 p.m.
