NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester Spartans earned a 1-0 shutout victory against the Transylvania University Pioneers on Saturday, September 30. 

Harley Kruschwitz (North Manchester, Ind., Manchester) scored the lone goal of the game in the 10th minute for the Black and Gold. Kruschwitz slotted a shot into the left corner of goal past the Transylvania keeper to the Spartan ahead. Chris Gerken (Huntertown, Ind., Carroll) assisted on the goal. 

Transylvania narrowly outshot Manchester 15-12 during Saturday's match. The Spartans landed six shots on goal.

Cory Mitchell (Maitland, Fla., Winter Park) led the Spartans with six shots, four of which landed on goal. Kruschwitz added four shots while Julian Keough (Indianapolis, Ind., Pike) and Maruwe Exauce (Indianapolis, Ind., North Central) each had one shot each on the afternoon.

Aaron Ketchmark (Kouts, Ind., Kouts) collected his sixth clean sheet of the season with four crucial saves in goal. 

Manchester men's soccer (5-0-5, 1-0-1 HCAC) will return to action on Wednesday, October 4, with a road trip Franklin College. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
