NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester women's basketball team fell in their home
matchup against the Mount St. Joseph Lions with a final score of 57-47 on Saturday, January 20.
The Spartans and Lions battled back-and-forth in the
opening quarter of Saturday afternoon's contest. The score was tied 15-15 entering in to the second quarter. Manchester outscored Mount St. Joseph 14-9 to take a five-point lead at the half.Â
The Lions held the Spartans to six points in the third quarter as they took a 42-35 advantage going into the fourth quarter. Mount St. Joseph would hang on to take Saturday's game 57-47 to improve to 14-2, 8-2 HCAC.Â
As a team, Manchester shot 36.6% (15-41) from the floor.

Abigail Rosenkrans (Pendleton, Ind., Pendleton Heights) pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds, followed byÂ
Maddi Smith (Kewanna, Ind., Caston) with eight rebounds on Saturday afternoon. Manchester is now 5-12 on the season and 2-8 in conference play.Â
Manchester women's basketball will look ahead to play their next
matchup against
Rose-Hulman at home on January 24. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.
