NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University men's basketball team hosted the Hanover College Panthers on Saturday, January 6. The Spartans fell short against the Panthers by a final score of 83-73. 

Manchester stood ahead going into halftime with a 39-36 lead. Hanover went on an 18-7 run to take a ten-point lead after the first nine minutes of the second half. The Panthers held off the Spartans to claim the 83-73 victory.

The Spartans were led by Zach Sawyer (Columbus, Ohio, Bishop Watterson) with 27 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Bryant Smith (West Lafayette, Ind., Harrison) added 24 points, followed by Logan Willoughby (Greenwood, Ind., Whiteland Community) with 13 points. Austin Willoughby (Greenwood, Ind., Whiteland Community) finished the afternoon with two blocks.

Up next, Manchester men's basketball will host rival Anderson University on Wednesday, January 10 for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
