The Spartans put on a show right where they left off from last year's HCAC regular season, getting things started first was
Kole Williams (Lafayette, Ind., McCutcheon) who headed one past the keeper in the 20th minute thanks to a great ball from
Ean Jones. This game would be a physical one with four yellow cards being shown just in the first half.Â
The Spartans came out hot in the 2nd half with
Ean Jones (Lancaster, TX, Red Oak) scoring only three minutes in after a through ball from
Andy Ignatovich (Ceresco, MIch., Lakeview). In the 77th minute, the Spartans won a free kick in the offensive half, when
Andy Ignatovich stepped up to play a beautiful ball in the air and find
Kole Williams head again as the Spartans would take the lead 3-0. Manchester would keep that lead thanks to some help from the defense and the outstanding efforts from goal keeper
Aaron Ketchmark (Kouts, Ind., Kouts) who held onto his clean sheet with six saves.
The Spartans look to keep the momentum as they travel to Bluffton University on October 9.Â
