North Manchester, In.d - The Manchester Spartans Volleyball team hosted Franklin College in their last home regular season match of the year this past Wednesday.

The Spartans came out on top in five sets to secure the #3 seed in the conference tournament.

After losing the first set, the Spartans would rally and win sets 2 and 3 to take a 2-1 lead. The Grizzlies got out to a big lead early in the 4th set and was able to hold onto that lead and head to a 5th set. The Spartans proved to be too much to handle as they would take the 5th set and the match with a 15-7 score. Avery Ball (Decatur, Ind., Belmont) led the Spartans in scoring with 20.5 points including 16 kills on a .324 attack percentage and four service aces. Lily Lichtenbarger (South Bend, Ind., New Prairie) was the net protector on defense where she finished with five solo blocks adding to her offensive efforts of nine kills and a .467 attack percentage. 

The Spartans will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to take on Rose Hulman in their final regular season match up on November 9.
