Manchester Basketball Travels to Hanover in Saturday Double-Header

Hanover, Ind. - The Manchester University Men's and Women's Basketball teams traveled to Hanover, ind. to take on Hanover College in a Saturday HCAC Double-header.

Both teams suffered losses to the Panthers despite their efforts and would see the Men's record drop to 6-3 overall (1-2 HCAC) and the Women's record drop to 2-5 overall (1-2) in HCAC play.

MUWBB 57, Hanover 62

The Black & Gold fought hard until the end but it was not enough has the Panthers outlasted the Spartans, winning by five in the first contest of the afternoon. Abigail Rosenkrans (Pendleton, Ind., Pendleton Heights) led the way, finishing with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. She also added 2 blocks and 1 steal. Hailee Kline (Huntington, Ind., Blackhawk Christian) finished with 13 after knocking down 3 threes and dishing out 3 assists.

MUMBB 74, Hanover 83

Men's Basketball started out hot, with a back and forth first half the Spartans would lead at the break by three. In the second hald, Hanover came out hot hitting 5 three pointers and taking the lead in the 11th minute and not losing it, winning the game 83-74. Bryant Smith (West Lafayette, Ind., Harrison) and Logan Willoughby (Greenwood, Ind., Whiteland Community) both finished with 18 a piece, combining for 5 three pointers, while Clay McCorkle (Converse, Ind, Oak Hill) was efficient shooting 4/7 and finishing wiht zero turnovers on the day.

The Spartan teams look to bounce back as they host Transylvania University on December 18 in Stauffer-Wolfe arena for their final game before break. First tip is scheduled for 1 PM.
