North Manchester, ind. - The Manchester University Men's Basketball team opened up HCAC play this Wednesday against Rose-Hulman right here in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.
The Spartans fell short as a tough shooting effort from Rose-Hulman was enough to hand their Black & Gold their first conference loss.
Manchester 74, Rose 84
The Engineers came out fast and hot, making their first six shots of the game, three of them being 3 pointers. Rose would lead for the entire game despite Manchester's outstanding offensive efforts to narrow the margin.
Zach Sawyer (Columbus, Ohio, Bishop Watterson) led the team in points and rebounds, finishing with a double double in 23 points and 10 rebounds. He also adds two blocks and one steal to the stat sheet.
Logan Willoughby (Greenwood, Ind., Whiteland Community) shot a perfect 5/5 from beyond the arc and finished the game 19 points, as well as going a perfect 4/4 from the stripe.
Ty Lynas (Crawfordsville, Ind., Crawfordsville) was a spark off the bench shooting 3/4 from three and providing 12 points and four rebounds for the Spartans.
Manchester will continue HCAC play as they host Earlham College on December 7. in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.
