North Manchester, Ind. - The Manchester University Men's Soccer team hosted Albion College Wednesday night in a non-conference match up.
The Spartans came out on top winning 2-1 and improving their win streak to three games.

Things got started fast as in the 8th minute,
Ean Jones (Lancaster, TX, Red Oak) would receive the ball from an
Ethan Hollis (Greenfield, Ind., Greenfield Central) pass, take on a defender and rip a shot into the bottom left corner giving the Spartans an early 1-0 lead. After that, the rest of the first half was a battle between Albion and goalkeeper
Aaron Ketchmark (Kouts, Ind., Kouts).
Ketchmark finished the first half with six saves keeping the Spartans up 1-0 going into the half.
Two minutes into starting the 2nd half, the Spartans committed a foul inside their own box which led to a Albion penalty kick which was converted, making the score 1-1. The tie would not last too long, just over ten minutes later,
Andy Ignatovich (Ceresco, MIch., Lakeview) ripped a ball across the box and
Ean Jones was there to clean it up to score his 2nd of the game bringing the Spartans back on top 2-1.Â
The Spartans were able to hold off the Britons, winning the game 2-1,
Ketchmark finished with 10 saves and
Ean Jones brought in both goals on just two shots.Â
The Black & Gold (3-3-1) will travel to Adrian College in their next match up, Saturday, Sept. 21 at 4:00 PM.
